time to stucco!

I can't believe how fast this is all going. Our house is ready for stucco and the sheetrock is completely done. They got a couple of days behind last week due to inclement weather, but this week they will mud the walls and stucco the outside of the house. I am really excited to see the stucco, because I don't really remember what colors I chose!

Women's Conference 2007

My old roommate, Yamel, came down from Logan last Wednesday, and we went to Women's Conference at BYU all day Thursday and Friday. It was so much fun! Not only did I have 2 days off from kids, but I got to spend good times with an old friend and was very spiritually uplifted. The speakers were great especially the opening and closing sessions each day. The closing on the first day was Brad Wilcox and his daughter Wendee and they spoke on the Atonement. The closing session on the last day was Elder and Sister Holland and they spoke on "Now is the Time". Throughout the whole thing there was very good musical performances too. One of the classes I really liked was from the new General Relief Society Presidency. It was really fun to get to know them! They are just totally hilarious and we were all laughing so hard we had tears coming down our cheeks. I have to say though, that my all time favorite class, was titled, "For With God, Nothing is Impossible-even raising a 3 year old". I got some really good insight on how to find joy in motherhood and I really needed that this past week. It was great! They are going to aire the whole broadcast on KBYU on May 18-20 so I really recommend watching as much as you can. The other cool thing is that they had service rooms set up where you could watch what classes were being held in certain rooms, but you could work on service projects at the same time. Yamel and I really enjoyed this and we learned how to crochet baby blanket edges! (don't mind the picture of us too much. We had just come in from the pouring rain and had been walking for 2 days straight!) Next year, I highly recommend everyone go to it though. It's going to be May 1-2, so plan now!

What a week!

Yesterday when we went over to the house for our weekly visit, we were amazed at all they got done this past week. The roof is on, most of the windows are in, the electrical is done, our fireplace is in and the tubs and showers are installed as well. Tomorrow we do our framing walk-through to make sure everything is done the way it's supposed to and then they will finish up the plumbing and begin the sheetrock. It's all very exciting for us! One of the pictures is the view of our house from the house across the street, one is of the fireplace (obviously) and one is of the view from the master bedroom. We can't wait for everyone to come visit!

framing is complete!

We went by the house on Saturday and were so surprised to see the progress that was made throughout the week. The framing was basically done and the showers and tubs were in the garage ready to be installed. The superintendent on the jobsite decided to add some upgrades as standard now so we got a pantry, and a garden tub in the master bathroom! That was another great surprise! We are very impressed so far with Alpine Builders and definitely recommend them! We have heard so many horror stories from some friends who had really bad experiences with their builders. So far, it's been a positive experience for us!

Tulip Festival

Tim's parents took us to the Tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point this past weekend and it was so amazing. I had never been to the garden's there, but they are so beautiful. Even Brooklyn loved it and wanted to stop at every little sign in the ground so we could tell her what the flowers were called. The weather was great and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Tallan

Tallan is getting so big already! He is 7 months old now and started eating cheerios yesterday for the first time. He is crawling around and talking so much more. He's even starting to get some hair. Before long, he'll have more than his dad! He's such a fun, happy baby, and I think he's adorable!

more progress

The first floor framing on the house is done! It's very exciting and we were told on Friday that it will probably be done a lot sooner than expected. Yeah!

book worm

Oh yeah, while the adults were socializing and eating, the kids had more fun than we did in Brooklyn's room. Now I really know she has way too many books!

Conference Weekend

What a fun Conference Weekend we had! Friday night we "settled" with Brian and Sarah and we continued the tradition of the girls winning. Yeah! Saturday I got to watch conference and after the priesthood session we had some friends over for a little chocolate fountain fun. Sunday morning we had conference breakfast at our house with 4 other families and had our regular Sunday dinner with Tim's parents. I met my aunt in Salt Lake to pick up 3 of my cousins and tomorrow I am off to Hurricane with the 5 kids! Ambitious I know! We got another letter from Joel and he is just doing great. He loves the MTC and his companion. He says his comp is very humble which is helping him work on being more humble himself. The language is coming great and he says the spirit there is amazing.

I just love conference weekend and the amazing talks we hear and the spirit we feel. There are always a few talks that I love more than others. This conference I loved Holland's talk on using your tongue in a positive way, Jensen's talk on music, and Oaks' talk on marriage. I do always love to hear Monson and Hinckley as well as many others too of course. We feel so blessed to be part of this amazing church and to have the Gospel in our lives.

Saturday is a special day!

Saturday morning I went to Mainspring Day Spa for my 3 hour spa getaway. I did an hour in the spa and sauna, an hour massage, and an hour facial. It was amazing and so relaxing and the best part, it was quiet. Tim and I ran some errands and then I dropped Brooklyn and Tim off at the movies for their date and I went with Shannyn and Jenny to Buffy's jeans party. I really wanted these People's Liberation jeans so bad, but couldn't justify the $100 bucks for them this month. Saturday night we did our monthly dinner date with Buffy and Ian, Shannyn and John, Jenny and Chris, and Brian and Sarah. It was pretty crazy with all 5 kids this time, but it was fun as always!

Miss America

Last weekend I went with some friends up to Park City to do some shopping and left Tim home with the kids, so this weekend he went up to the Blaze game with his friends and I stayed home with the kids. Luckily for me, Brian was out of town too, so Sarah and I got to hang out. We went to Old Navy, and then got sandwiches for dinner at Ernies. On the way home, we decided we could really use a milkshake so we got one at Carl's Jr and it was SO good! We got the kids to bed at her house and turned on the tv to watch a movie when the Miss America pageant was on, so we decided to watch for a minute. We were commenting on how ugly this one girl's dress was from afar and when the camera zoomed in on her, not only was it Miss Utah, but it was my old roommate, Heather Anderson! She was Miss Sandy when we were roommates and we used to walk around the apartment wearing her crown and she used to get so mad at us! She made it to the top 10 (go Heather!) but was eliminated when they named the top 5. It was fun to see her do so well though!

foundation

There will be a lot of posts about our house and it's progress each week, so I hope it's not redundant, but it's very exciting for us! But, the foundation was poured the end of last week and framing should start this week if the weather cooperates. Yeah!

We have a hole!

Yeah! After almost 4 long months of waiting, we finally have a hole for our future home! Only 6 more months to go now! I can't wait!

Elder Ehorn

Elder Ehorn made it to the MTC. We went to take him with my mom and Brian and while my mom and I were crying and giving Joel hugs before he went out the missionary door, all he had to say was, "See ya in two!". He was very excited and anxious to go and we are all very proud of him.

Joel's Farewell

We had an awesome time in Hurricane for Joel's farewell on March 11, and it was so great to have so many people there to support him. We had lots of family and friends there, and the girls definitely outnumbered the boys from Joel's friends. I was very bad at taking pictures though so I only have a couple of our family and of Brooklyn, Sadie (my cousin) and Maddie (my mom's husband's daughter's little girl...did you follow that?) We honestly didn't plan for Brooklyn and Maddie to have the same dress either! Joel did an amazing job on his talk though and he proved he has really grown up and is ready to go sreve in the Philippines!

what a slacker!

I decided I'm officially the worst blogger ever! So much has happened since I have last blogged and I'm really going to try and do better to at least update things weekly from now on!

Hooray for Joel!

Yeah! My little brother got his mission call to serve in Cebu, Phillipines and leaves in March! We are so proud of him!

Tallan's Blessing

We blessed Tallan yesterday at Tim's parent's ward in Spanish Fork. We had a very large crowd there with lots of family and friends who came from all over Utah. Tallan did very well and didn't even cry or spit up on anyone...until after we got home from church anyway. He did look very handsome if I do say so myself!

Halloween 2006

This Halloween Brooklyn was a monkey and Tallan used the pumpkin costume that his cousins Ethan and Drew wore when they were his age. We went trick-or-treating at the hospital with Grandpa and Grandma the night before Halloween and went with cousin Amber in Draper on Halloween night. Brooklyn ran from house to house and was very good to say "trick-or-treat!" and "thank you" after they put candy in her bag, but after about 5 houses, she said she was done and I had to carry her back to the car! I kept trying to persuade her to keep going to a few more homes because I knew what she had gotten already wouldn't last me very long, but I couldn't even bribe her! Maybe next year my candy supply will be a little more filled!

Cutest Kids Ever!

I just think they are two of the cutest kids I have ever seen!
